About Peter Wedderburn

Peter started writing stories, scribbled in Biro in exercise books, while a schoolboy at Enfield Grammar. A poor careers choice to study Maths and Physics didn’t work out and he left school to work for a local company as a management trainee. The job lacked excitement and he quit to travel across Europe on a Triumph Motorcycle, before returning to education at Middlesex University where he studied Humanities.On graduation he worked as a student Union Officer, editing the Student magazine, “Mouthpiece.”  He initially intended to work in journalism , but the move into magazine publishing, led to a commercial career path. firstly in Advertising sales and later in Publishing Management. After 20 years in publishing, Peter set up a publishing services business specialising in business events.

Always a keen runner, he has run 27 marathons and many shorter distance races. He is an active member of The Stragglers Running Club and served on the club committee. in 2012 he decided to change the focus of his business to organise mass participation running events, including the very successful Hampton Court and Kingston Half Marathons. In 2023 He decided to retire from full time race organisation, although he retains an involved in commercial and charity event organisation.

​Peter lives with his wife Stella and their dog, a miniature schnauzer called Harry. They have has three grown up children, Alex, Victoria and Olivia. Now with reduced work pressure he is able to devote more time to writing and has finally brought his first novel to publication.

Peter says, ‘Wherever I go I find stories waiting to be told. People in the street inspire curiosity. Where are they going, what are they thinking? And then there is always the what if. Writing is my way of exploring the ideas that spring to mind.
