Andrew Rothstone is a successful entrepreneur, CEO of the major publishing empire M21C. He is also a fanatical sport fisherman, hunting for Marlin, Shark and Tuna in the depths of the Southern Oceans. When he inherits his families sprawling Yorkshire Estate he conceives the idea of introducing a new breed of sports fish that can survive in the cold fresh water of the huge lake dominating the grounds of Rothstone Hall. He employs scientist Dr Michael Phipps, to help create a GMO - A Genetically Modified Organism. They set up a fish-breeding facility within the Estate grounds and the project gets under way. But when M21C collapses and a massive fraud is uncovered, Rothstone flees the country. The laboratory is closed down and the Genetically Modified fish within it destroyed.
Ten years later disturbing events begin to occur at Rothstone. Gamekeepers son Mark Braithwaite enlists the help of TV fishing personality Jez Harvey to investigate. Can they unlock the secrets of the lake before catastrophic consequences occur?
