New Year, new ideas
2026 is already racing away and I have been busy with writing projects, including completing a beta draft of a new spy novel. I’m working on refinements and will be looking to find an agent to help bring this to a Publishing House for commercial publication.
I have had a very positive response to Piscium, and the focus now is on marketing. Amazon is a very competitive marketplace and gaining visibility is difficult, especially for a non genre specific title which defies neat categorization. The novel deals with Genetic modification, but it’s not science fiction. It’s a thriller, but not a who done it. It walks through the corridors of Whitehall and Government but its not a political thriller. Piscium is a story. It has a beginning on a Yorkshire Estate, a middle when the genetically modified organisms escape their originators control, and an end when national chaos descends and a small team seek to cull them. I believe that the book will gain its place in the market through word of mouth. If you read Piscium, please leave an honest review on Amazon!
The Piscium project is far from over, and there are plans for further development. Many readers feedback has been on the cinematic feel of the novel, and the thought that it should be developed into a film or TV series. That’s something I am hoping to pursue, and I have one fil director currently reviewing the manuscript.
Another thought is to produce an audio book version. Again, that one is under discussion with a professional performer.
And of course, there is a sequel planned. For the readers who have requested it, I am pleased to reveal that the plot is drawn and the structure is in place, with the opening chapters already written. We look to publication later this year.
Time waits for no-one and it moves pretty fast. Got to keep the wheels turning and the fingers on the keyboard. 2026 will be a very exciting year!
